How long travel size toiletries last?

Spring cleaning is in full swing during the month of April.

Don't forget to clean your travel size toiletries too!

Getting the house in order, decluttering, getting rid of things you haven’t used in years, and of course, updating your wardrobe and decor to a more fresh and light style it’s all super important and in some cases, it could be fun.

However, do you know what else is super important to clean up and usually gets neglected? Our makeup and toiletries, and specially our travel size toiletries.

Yes, those small toiletries you’re storing and saving up for your next trip. Which, don’t get me wrong, I agree 100% you should have them ready to go to save you time when packing.

But after a while, they’re only getting older and collecting nasty bacteria 🦠 even if you’re always using them! 🤢

So, it is always a good idea to do a complete clean up of your all your old travel size toiletries and get new ones before your next trip.

It’s a good idea to do this at least every year.

I personally really like going to the store and look through the travel size toiletry section every once in a while.

I’m always surprised to see how my favorite brands start releasing their products in miniature size.

Which my preference is to always try to get the product already in the small container 3.4 fl oz or less, instead of transferring products from a larger container into smaller containers every time I travel.

I just like to spot the product right away because I recognize the brand. I know what’s inside that container, instead of me having to write a label to know what’s inside that  container.

But even if use these products all of the time or once a year, they all have an expiration date.

So it’s critical that we toss them and get new products that are not full of bacteria 🧫 🦠  and are good for our skin.

The rule of thumb is 24 months or 2 years. If you still have any product left after that timeframe, it's best if you just throw it away.
